K-State Wildcats will compete against the top-seeded TCU Horned Frogs in the semifinals of the 2026 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Tournament. The game is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, at 3 p.m. at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
The matchup will be broadcast on ESPN+, with Eric Frede providing play-by-play and Christy Thomaskutty as analyst. Fans can also listen to the radio call on the K-State Sports Network or follow live statistics on kstatesports.com.
TCU currently leads the all-time series against K-State, holding a 13-12 advantage. Head coach Jeff Mittie has a record of 12-10 against TCU during his career. This contest marks the first meeting between these teams in the Big 12 Tournament.
K-State enters as a 12-seed with an overall record of 18-16 and an 8-10 mark in conference play, while TCU holds a record of 28-4 and went 15-3 in Big 12 games.
According to tournament records, “K-State is 27-28 in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Tournament and have advanced at least one round in 22 of the 29 tournaments. This is the second time the Wildcats have won three games at a Big 12 Tournament (1997). K-State is the first 12-seed to reach the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament.”
Freshman Jordan Speiser has contributed significantly from long range this season. She has made “66 connections from long range,” making her “the fifth freshman in program history with 65 or more 3-point field goals made in a freshman season and is fourth in program history for 3-point field goals made in a freshman season.” In tournament play, Speiser has excelled further: “In her first three career Big 12 Tournament games, Speiser is 13-of-25 (.520) from beyond the arc. She ranks first in program history for three-point field goal percentage in a Big 12 Tournament career (min. 25 attempts) and is tied for sixth for three-point field goals made in a Big 12 Tournament career.”
Gina Garcia leads all freshmen in assists within the conference and stands second nationally among freshmen with “173 assists.” She also ranks third all-time at K-State for assists by a freshman and needs four more to surpass Serena Sundell’s mark set during the 2021–22 season.
The Wildcats have emphasized ball movement throughout their tournament run: “K-State has handed out 55 assists (18.3 apg) on its 83 made field goals in its three Big 12 Tournament games. The 66.3 assist percentage in these three games is ahead of its assist percentage for the season (58.9; 507 assists).”
Overall this year, K-State has recorded “507 assists,” marking their seventh season under head coach Jeff Mittie with at least that many and their fifth consecutive such campaign.
