The Kansas State women’s tennis team will begin its conference schedule this Friday, wrapping up a five-match home stretch at Mike Goss Tennis Stadium. The Wildcats, currently holding a 3-3 record, will face the Cincinnati Bearcats (5-2) at 4 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

K-State has won all three previous encounters with Cincinnati, including a close 4-3 victory in Ohio last season. In that match, Maralgoo Chogsomjav secured the deciding singles point in the No. 3 spot against Gabrielle Guenther.

On Sunday, K-State will play indoors at Peakform Sports and Wellness Center at noon against West Virginia (6-1). The Wildcats have prevailed over the Mountaineers in their last three meetings, most recently winning 4-3 during the first round of the Big 12 Championship on April 16 of last year.

The team finished non-conference play undefeated after wins over Old Dominion and #53 Minnesota. On February 22, K-State swept Minnesota 4-0, with freshman Sasha Kyselova earning her first singles win by defeating Mia Liepert on court three.

Against Old Dominion on February 20, sophomore Diana Smolinska clinched the victory for K-State after a three-set match against Uladzislava Manzhos. Freshman Varvara Bernovich also recorded her first singles win in that contest.

K-State claimed doubles points in both matches, led by the ITA-ranked No. 55 duo of Maralgoo and Martaa Chogsomjav, who have a 3-1 record this season at No. 1 doubles.

Following these home matches, K-State will travel to Colorado (8-2) on March 6 and then face Texas Tech (9-3) on March 8.
