Riley County ranked 98th among counties in Kansas by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Riley County residents was $22,909 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 26,648 households with a population of 75,296.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Johnson County with $41,425 per year after adjusting for inflation – $18,516 more than Riley County. It had 226,242 households with a population of 585,502.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Elk County with $21,067 per year after adjusting for inflation – $1,842 less than Riley County. It had 1,117 households with a population of 2,562.
