U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) has voted to advance the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act, which is now set to be signed into law. The bill was passed in the U.S. House of Representatives with a vote count of 387-26.
Following the vote, Rep. Mann released a statement expressing his support for the legislation and its implications for American aviation. "Kansas has a deep history with aviation, and I am proud to support this legislation that keeps America as the global leader of the industry," said Rep. Mann. He further noted that maintaining the American gold standard of aviation necessitates strong leadership at the FAA to address some of the most challenging issues facing the industry, including workforce limitations, innovation and technology development, aviation safety, and federal red-tape.
The legislation also supports Essential Air Service airports and policies crucial to the Big First. Prior to this recent development, Rep. Mann had urged his colleagues on the House Floor to back the FAA reauthorization.
In June 2023, Rep. Mann had voted in favor of passing this bill - known as the Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act - out of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. In July 2023, he had also supported it on the House Floor.
Rep. Mann currently serves on both the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Aviation Subcommittee.
As outlined in his Commitment to the Big First, Rep. Mann believes that Kansans deserve an economy where innovation can thrive without being hindered by burdensome federal red-tape.
