U.S. Representative Tracey Mann from Kansas addressed the U.S. House of Representatives, marking his first speech since the recent elections. The elections resulted in President Donald J. Trump being elected as the 47th President and Republican majorities in both the House and Senate.
In his speech, Rep. Mann outlined his vision for the 119th Congress, focusing on reducing federal spending, securing borders, ending what he described as "the weaponization of the federal government," and stimulating economic growth.
"Mr. Speaker, when I last spoke on this floor, I laid out the choice the country had before us," said Rep. Mann. He highlighted that voters expressed a clear mandate by rejecting what he termed as chaos under President Biden and Vice President Harris's administration.
Rep. Mann recalled his initial years in Congress when America was strong with secure streets and borders during Trump's previous term. He criticized the Biden-Harris Administration for their policies over the past four years, which he believes wasted momentum built by previous Republican leadership.
"Mr. Speaker, those days are long gone," he stated, expressing readiness alongside fellow Republicans to restore what he called American greatness.
He reaffirmed his commitment to fight for agriculture and conservative values while addressing issues such as energy prices and immigration reform.
"The task before us is a big one," concluded Rep. Mann confidently about delivering results for America.
