In 2009, the City of Wamego established Vision Wamego to create a long-term strategic plan for the Wamego community.  This movement set forth many goals and ideas for Wamego and found outstanding success.

Now, the City has kicked the ball on Vision Wamego 2023 to continue strategic planning for our community. The goals set forth are to protect the history of Wamego, appreciate the presence of Wamego today and ensure we are positioning ourselves for an excellent Wamego of tomorrow.

Over the course of the next few months, there will be opportunities for you to participate in town hall meetings and surveys so your voice is heard so we can plan the next 10-15 years of Wamego.

The City Commission appointed a steering committee of people that live and work in Wamego. Representatives of the City of Wamego, Pottawatomie County Economic Development, the Wamego Area Chamber of Commerce, the Wamego City Hospital and USD 320 make up ex officio members.

The steering committee will be collecting your feedback and use as they make a tentative path forward. Will this path change over time? Yes. Will it be set in stone? No. But our hope is it will give us a pathway forward for our community's future.
