Tracey Mann, U.S. Congressman representing Kansas’s 1st district since 2021, highlighted the importance of food security and agricultural policy in a series of posts on August 27 and 28, 2025.
On August 27, Mann stated, "Food security is national security. A strong Farm Bill supports rural America, ensures stability at home, and keeps America fed, fueled, and clothed. ".
The following day, Mann shared details about his visit to local financial institutions in Ellsworth: "Strong local banks and co-ops keep our businesses and our communities thriving. I visited Ellsworth Cooperative and Citizens State Bank during my time in Ellsworth to talk about supporting rural credit, expanding the agricultural workforce, and cutting red tape that makes it" (August 28).
Later on August 28, Mann addressed legislative efforts for agriculture: "The One Big Beautiful Bill invests in the future of agriculture by lowering taxes for producers and strengthening the farm safety net. We still must pass a comprehensive, five-year Farm Bill that provides certainty for our producers, further invests in animal health research,".
Mann was born in Quinter, Kansas in 1976 and currently resides in Salina. He graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000. He succeeded Roger Marshall as representative for Kansas’s 1st district.
