Yesterday, U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) attended the grand opening of the Hays Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Hays, Kansas. The clinic, which is the fourth of its kind in the Big First District, will provide healthcare services to 35,000 veterans.

"I am proud to have this new Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in our district, where American heroes receive the care, attention, and respect they deserve," said Rep. Mann. "In America, we support the brave men and women who defend our freedoms in the armed forces, and that support must not stop once they take off their uniforms."

Rep. Mann highlighted the challenges faced by veterans in rural areas when it comes to accessing healthcare. "Of the 20 million veterans living in America, 4.4 million live in rural areas, where it can be difficult to recruit and retain health care professionals," he explained. "As a result, millions of veterans in rural America struggle with access to health care. This clinic meets an immediate need and is a welcomed addition to our state."

The Hays CBOC has been providing continuous care to veterans since its original opening in 1999. The new location boasts additional exam rooms and dedicated space for group therapy and mental health care, in addition to offering primary care, laboratory, pathology, pharmacy, and telehealth services.

"I will always remain committed to supporting America's heroes in Congress," assured Rep. Mann. "Veterans have served all of us selflessly - this clinic is about serving them and ensuring that they receive the highest quality of care."

The grand opening of the Hays CBOC marks an important milestone in improving healthcare access for veterans in the Big First District. With the addition of this facility, more veterans will have the opportunity to receive the care they need closer to home. The dedication and commitment shown by Rep. Mann in supporting the healthcare needs of veterans are commendable.
