U.S. Representative Tracey Mann welcomed U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins to Kansas' Big First District. The visit included tours of Finney County Feeders, High Plains Ponderosa Dairy, and National Beef. Additionally, Rep. Mann, Secretary Rollins, and Senator Roger Marshall held a roundtable discussion with agricultural producers from across the state.
Rep. Mann expressed his appreciation for Secretary Rollins choosing the Big First for her initial producer visit after confirmation. "I’m grateful that Secretary Rollins chose the Big First as her first official producer visit following her confirmation," said Rep. Mann.
He emphasized the importance of agriculture in the district and highlighted the need for stable farm and food policies: "Agriculture is the heartbeat of the Big First District, and the livelihoods of the men and women in our district depend on sound farm and food policy that provide certainty as they work day in and day out to feed, clothe, and fuel the world."
Mann also noted his anticipation of collaborating with Secretary Rollins and President Trump: "As one of the top agricultural producing districts in the country, I’m thankful the Secretary got to hear the perspectives of some of the nation’s top agricultural producers, and I am looking forward to working with her and President Trump to empower those who answer the noble call of feeding, clothing, and fueling the world."
