U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) cast his vote in support of H. Con. Res. 14, a bill setting fiscal targets from 2026 to 2036 and requiring committees in the House of Representatives to draft legislation accordingly. The resolution, with a narrow approval of 216-214 in the House, progresses the budget reconciliation process to implement President Trump's legislative plan.
“On November 5, 2024, 77 million Americans, including myself, gave Washington, D.C. a mandate to secure the border, lower taxes, and get our country back on track,” said Rep. Mann. “The budget resolution passed by the House instructs our committees to find savings for the American taxpayer, finish the border wall, make America safe again, invest in and bolster our national defense, unleash American energy dominance, and most importantly, prevent taxpayers from seeing an average tax hike of $2,200 next January. These are the commonsense policy solutions that the Big First District overwhelmingly voted for last November."
Rep. Mann expressed his pride in advancing the legislation and his intent to collaborate with committees to find additional savings for taxpayers, aiming to meet the requests of Americans as he stated, “I was proud to advance this legislation and set the foundation for Congress to implement President Trump’s agenda. I look forward to working with my committees in the coming weeks to identify even more savings for the American taxpayer and deliver the one big, beautiful bill Americans have asked for.”
The amended resolution, returned by the U.S. Senate on April 4, 2025, now awaits committees to draft legislation meeting the outlined revenue and spending goals before submission to the Budget Committee.
