U.S. Congressman Tracey Mann, who represents Kansas’s 1st district and serves as Chair of the Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Subcommittee, addressed several key issues in a series of tweets on July 16, 2025.
In his first post, Mann highlighted concerns about livestock health: "As Chair of the Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Subcommittee, I understand the risk that New World Screwworm poses to the American cattle industry. Yesterday’s hearing underscored the importance of positioning the United States to focus on disease prevention rather than outbreak" (July 16, 2025).
Later that day, Mann announced an opportunity for constituents to engage with him directly: "I’ll be hosting a telephone town hall tonight to hear directly from Kansans in the Big First District. You can join the livestream and submit your questions at 6:30 PM CT at the link below. I hope you’ll tune in and be part of the conversation." (July 16, 2025).
Mann also celebrated recent legislative developments impacting his district: "The One Big Beautiful Bill is now the law of the land. That means:
Lower taxes for working families
A stronger farm safety net
American energy dominance
The largest border security investment in U.S. history
This is what the Big First voted for in November." (July 16, 2025).
Tracey Mann has represented Kansas’s 1st District since replacing Roger Marshall in Congress in 2021. Born in Quinter, Kansas in 1976 and currently residing in Salina, Mann graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000.
