Men's And Women's Basketball Teams In Action At Fort Scott
On Saturday, Jan. 14, Highland Community College men's and women's basketball teams traveled to Fort Scott Community College to open conference play.
The Scottie women started strong and took a 14-point lead going into halftime, 39-25. Both teams scored 28-points in the second half leading to a 67-55 Highland win. The Lady Scotties shot 41.1% from the floor and could only muster 2-19 from beyond the arc.
Scottie men trailed by 6-points at the half, 34-40. The Scotties outscored Fort Scott 42-40 in the second half. Ultimately, HCC men fell 76-80. The Scotties shot 56.9% from the floor and an impressive 81.9% from the free throw line.
The Scottie women had two players score in double figures. Kenadi Rising had 16-points, 11-rebounds, and 5-assists while Brandi Dunn had 12-points and 8-rebounds.
Jayla Bibbs had 14-points and 10-rebounds for Fort Scott.
The Scottie men had three players score in double figures. Greg Moore led the way with 19-points and 8-rebounds. RJ Sears had 16-points and Tyree Green had 15-points.
Fort Scott Community College's Keryn Collins led all scorers with 23-points.
