U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) has taken a firm stance by voting against H.R. 7463, the Extension of Continuing Appropriations and Other Matters Act of 2024. Rep. Mann expressed his dissatisfaction with the continuous reliance on short-term funding measures, stating, "We are living the same story over and over again." He emphasized the need for Congress to prioritize responsible spending and pass individual appropriation bills that address the genuine needs of the country.

During the recent vote, H.R. 7463 passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a margin of 320-99, extending government funding for certain agencies until March 8 and March 22, 2024. Rep. Mann's decision to vote against this resolution is in line with his previous voting record on similar bills. Notably, he voted no on H.R. 2872 on January 18, H.R. 6363 on November 14, 2023, and H.R. 5860 on September 30, 2023, showcasing his consistent opposition to short-term funding measures.

In a statement following the vote, Rep. Mann highlighted the feedback he received from constituents during his recent 60-county Mann Listening Tour in Kansas. He mentioned that Kansans are weary of the government's reckless spending habits and emphasized the importance of returning to regular order in the budgeting process. Rep. Mann believes that by curbing wasteful expenditures and focusing on essential priorities, the economy can regain its strength.

The vote on H.R. 7463 marks another instance where Rep. Mann has stood against continuing resolutions, advocating for a more sustainable approach to funding the government. As the debate on fiscal matters continues in Congress, Rep. Mann remains committed to representing the interests of the people of Kansas's 1st District.
