Cost of college went up for all students at Manhattan Area Technical College

Tuition and fees rose 11.9 percent for 2018-19 at Manhattan Area Technical College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Kansas students paid $6,750 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $720 more than the $6,030 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 84 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 19 students received grants or scholarships totaling $92,328 and 20 students took out student loans totaling more than $115,438.

Including all undergraduates (777), 264 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.4 million, and 222 students took out $1.3 million in federal student loans.
